Being that asbestos has been found to be a human carcinogen and is still widely used and found in millions of American homes. This petition seeks to reduce the health risks posed by asbestos-containing materials and products and for other purposes.
1. A complete ban on the importation, manufacture, processing, distribution, or sale of all asbestos related products in the US.
2. To add funding to regulatory agencies for education of the public on asbestos in the US, notification and public awareness of the millions of homes containing asbestos insulation and further research on the health effects of and diseases caused by asbestos.
3. A trust set up by the government, paid for by those who profited off of asbestos to treat those who are affected by asbestos related disease and cancers.
