Preventing foreign powers from influencing the outcome of our democracy is a nonpartisan issue. The CIA has a report detailing how Russian actors intentionally engaged in hacking operations to influence the outcome of the most recent U.S. presidential election. The CIA is not making the report public in order to protect its sources and methods. Members of the Electoral College should be able to consider Russian interference in the presidential election - and whether it influenced the outcome - prior to deciding how to cast their vote.
The Electoral College's duty is to safeguard our democracy. To understand the extent that the Russian hacks may have influenced the final result of the U.S. presidential election, the electors need full access to the report and/or a detailed briefing.
