I believe the US government's position on this serious issue between Japan and the ROK is very lukewarm.

We urge the United States Government to give a thorough and clear explanation on why Dokdo (named Takeshima by Japan) was left out (for the benefit of Japan) in the San Francisco Peace Treaty, despite the fact that these islets historically and originally belong to Korea.
