Fully fund the earthquake early warning system.

Created by R.L. on April 04, 2014

The Obama administration must fully fund the earthquake warning system for the West Coast of the United States.

A system is currently in development but additional funds are needed to make it fully operational. Similar systems have proven to be effective in Japan and Mexico City.

The system is expected to cost $38.3 million to build, and 16 million a year to maintain.

This is a very small cost when you consider the number of lives that a minute of warning can save in the event of a large earthquake.
