We petition the administration to fully fund Tuition Assistance for the United States Coast Guard. Currently Tuition assistance for the Coast Guard is only at 75%, with caveats on how many credits you can take per quarter. These caveats do not allow the member to use the full amount of money funded, because of the limitation of credit hours you are allowed to take per quarter.
The other military services Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines all have 100% funding for tuition assistance. After the last Government shutdown, when tuition assistance was done away with. Everyone's TA got reinstated at 100%, with the exception of the Coast Guard.
Allowing this reinstatment of funding for tuition assistance will be a driving force in better preparing members for life after military service
