Sequestration is negatively impacting the US Navy Blue Angels and other display teams, and, as a result, our future. These teams work around the country, inspiring young people to join the military, pursue aviation and consider science and technology as a career path.
The US Navy Blue Angels cost $37 million a year, a fraction of the $926 billion spent by the Pentagon each year, and inspire 11 million people annually.
In comparison, Congress costs the US taxpayers $132 million a year, manufacturing pennies costs $70 million a year, free federal cell phones cost $1.5 billion a year, and an estimated $1 billion is wasted each year because the government pays too much for products and services.
We the people demand real waste be stopped, and the Blue Angels be fully funded.
