Any time the President of the United States ventures outside the gates of the White House, he is accompanied by a massive security presence that interferes with the normal activities of people and businesses wherever he goes. The president may be unaware of how disruptive his security footprint is for ordinary citizens. The president should be given an "impact projection" before he travels, so that he understands the collateral damage he inflicts for his appearances and fund-raisers.
When appearances and events are scheduled weeks in advance, the public has the opportunity to plan accordingly. When notice is limited, people can find themselves unable to keep appointments and meet commitments. People are forced to change their plans when the president changes his plans. He should know it.
