I live in a state (Maryland) where we are lucky enough to hear about fracking stories, but we don't have enough shale to make fracking in Maryland viable (yet).
However, the rest of the country is not so lucky. I know I have heard horror stories, not only from actual people but on the news as well. Things like whole families getting sick when they live near a well, earthquakes being associated with fracking, methane leaks, wells not being properly maintained, ground water pollution.
My main concern is that there have been no real unbiased investigations into fracking and it's effects, and there needs to be one. We need to know what is in the water the companies use for fracking and just how fracking is effecting us before it's too late.
