1st Lt. Clint Lorance was convicted for killing the enemy while on patrol in the Kandahar Province of Afghanistan. He was sentenced to 20 years at Fort Levenworth. The Army said he violated the rules of engagement by not waiting to be fired upon first or by not confirming they were combatants otherwise.
This is a disgrace and unwarranted punishment. 1st Lt. Lorance is a highly decorated Army Combat Officer who was doing his job.
The purpose of this petition is to humbly request that the President of the United States fully pardon 1st Lt. Lorance and allow him to enjoy the very freedoms he took an oath to protect and defend. Please join with me and others in getting the required signatures to bring this to the President's attention.
