The State of Israel was founded on May 14, 1948. Within the 65 since, Israel has been attacked multiple times from countries that have called for it's destruction. If Israel were to go back to it's pre-1967 borders, it would not be able to aquatically defend from insurgents. The aforementioned territories were historically Hebrew land, and would have continued to be Hebrew land if not for the Jewish diaspora caused by Babylon and intensify by Roman actions and even further by Roman Emperor Hadrian. The U.S. has a responsibility to help give legitimacy to Israeli claims to ancestral homeland, which it gave up in hopes for peace, but regained when invaded in 1967 by Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq. It was yet force to battle Egypt, and Syria in the Yom Kippur War when Israel was force to act
