The plight of the Lakotah and other native groups in America is comparable to that of the Tibetans. Both have suffered greatly. It is admirable that the President shows concern for the plight of the Tibetans and even meets with the Dalai Lama. Why not set an example to China not with words but with actions by returning land that we have stolen and take another step towards righting past wrongs and injustice. Why not show that we are really sorry by giving the Lakotah and other natives what they have always wanted and deserve: their own sovereign land and country with no control from the federal government. Please consider recognizing the treaties signed with them as being legally binding.
