Fund and research a nonlethal alternative to guns as a reliable civilian self defense and distribute it.

This is a petition for our government to research a safe nonlethal alternative to firearms for protection that also can deal with dangerous criminals armed with lethal weapons and enable US civilians. Then we can slowly take guns off the streets and severely curb crime rates. With today's growing innovation in technology, there is bound to be a non-lethal alternative to keep ourselves safe from shootings and other criminal activity. We need something that can lock down an aggressor or multiple aggressors until police arrive. If we find a solution, we can save thousands of lives. We simply need a real alternative to deadly weapons!
