Fund the construction of the "Space Elevator" Increase federal funding to NASA, and subsidize American space businesses.

Growing up with the benefit of an American education, I was taught the United States is consistently an engine of scientific major changes to the world. Space can solve many emerging problems that we struggle to find solutions for here in the heartland. Funding projects like the "Space Elevator" and other amazing American projects like it will bring us past this difficult recession. The world population is growing, and with infrastructure in space the United States could afford to feed them all. We need to focus on the future. Increasing federal funding for the space program, and encouraging private businesses to stay in the United States will secure our place in that future.
