Climate change, whether anthropogenic or natural (though the science is quite clear) is beginning to have extreme effects all across the US. One such effect is the extreme drought in CA, which is taking its toll on the state in the form of fires, dying crops and significant depletion of the state's few remaining water reserves.
Please inquire with scientific authorities whether or not major infrastructure changes can combat this issue, such as nuclear powered desalination facilities built along the coast to fill the needs of cities like LA, thereby freeing up water rights for the central valley. If this is still not enough, consider freshwater pipelines from said facilities to water hungry regions.
