In our society, it is becoming increasingly important to travel quickly. Whether its traveling for business purposes or leisure, our current rail system doesn't do its job efficiently. According to Amtrak, many sections of the Northeast Corridor (NEC) are running "at or near capacity". By 2027, Japan will already have their newly constructed maglev trains in service, which reach speeds of up to 374mph. Amtrak's goal by 2040 is to reach speeds of up to 220mph. Even if this plan were put into effect today, it would be nowhere near the fastest train in existence. By investing in our railways, our cities will experience population growth and economic development due to an influx of people.
