fund the judicial branch. Dangerously, it has no source of funding. Judges are being let go, courts closed.

Created by M.H. on November 01, 2011

Judges are being let go, courts closed, and cases either delayed for years or dismissed. Without law, a democracy falls apart. Without civil cases (not guaranteed by most state constitutions) we will have the "unravelling of society", as one CA Superior Judge stated. In FL alone the backlog in civil courts is costing the state $9.8b a year. In GA, courts lost 25% of their budget so far, and more is being cut. Jails are full of the innocent aongside the guilty. Filibuster of judicial nominations are at all-time highs, causing federal cases to pile up, while federal judges are leaving their very poorly paid profession for better jobs. If this continues, there will be no check-and-balance system in our government, which will further empower (leave unchecked) the wealthy & powerful few.
