Fund mental health research to make diagnosis and treatment more accessible and accurate.

This petition supports funding for expanding research for mental health diseases such as depression, anxiety, adult ADD, PTSD, etc. Frequently, doctors prescribe medications to address long-term symptoms without knowing the true root cause of a mental health issue. Diagnosis needs to be based on results from comprehensive standardized testing by knowledgeable mental health care providers where the true root cause is determined with some standard treatments for more accuracy. For example, is there deficiency in an area of the brain,past injury or illness that could be cause of a patients lack of focus, depression or anxiety. We need to stop the band-aides and treat it right the first time.
