Fund more research into causes and life saving treatments for Epilepsy, a disease that takes up to 50,00 lives each year

Created by M.M. on April 04, 2014

Epilepsy affects 3 million Americans and 65 million people around the world. Yet only $0.82 per patient is spent for research. Compare that to an alcoholic, who gets $3.16 spent per patient or a smoker who gets $150 spent per patient.
Epilepsy affects more people than Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, and Parkinson's Disease COMBINED.
Epilepsy is the 3rd most common neurological disorder, behind stroke and Alzheimer's.
Epilepsy increases the risk of sudden death and SUDEP (Sudden Unexplained Death in EPilepsy)
Up to 50,000 people die from Epilepsy related causes each year, this is more than the 32,000 people who die of Breast Cancer. Yet Breast cancer is so well known and highly funded.
