The Federal Government has committed over $3.2 Billion to build the California "High Speed" Rail Project (CHSR). The current plans for CHSR call for a system that will be obsolete before its built.
Construction has not yet really started, so there is time to instead fund something that will truly be a major improvement over existing transportation systems and show that the US is still able to Innovate beyond Social Apps.
We need our bright future back. This would be one way to show its possible.
