Funding these orbital based systems gives the U.S. military the ability to fire inert projectiles that fly much faster and strike nearly anywhere with the possible power of tactical nuclear devices with NO fallout or residual radiation. These kinetic platforms can easily get around space based weapon treaties. Extreme speeds make these projectiles difficult to intercept and they satisfy the military's want for hypersonic weapon systems. Kinetic strike platforms have the potential to replace nuclear equipped ICBM's as Americas primary highly destructive strategic weapon.
