Fund Public Broadcasting by charging non-cable networks a fee for their use of public airwaves.

Created by L.W. on October 12, 2011

Public Broadcasting serves the public interest with world-wide, award-winning journalism, excellent educational programs for all ages, & giving all Americans access to high-quality arts & sciences. Their funding is uncertain: much of it is from public donations, corporations, & foundations. Many who depend on Public Broadcasting (TV & radio) for in-depth, timely information have no discretionary income to support this necessary tool of a free nation. Non-public contributors (Corporations & Foundations) may attempt an inappropriate influence for their money. Currently, cable companies must fund C-SPAN to serve the public interest. Require non-cable networks to similarly support Public Broadcasting for the public good as payment for the privilege of using public airways for their profit.
