Please take a stand and tell Obama that we need funding to start the research of "Laser Bees" which will be sent into space in hopes that it will destroy asteroids that are roughly 100+ meters in diameter that are on a collision path with earth.
William Sanford "Bill" Nye was the first to pose this idea during an ASAP Science talk on July 23, 2013. Bill has been known for his assistance in the "MarsDial" that was included in the Mars Exploration Rover missions. He was the Vice President of The Planetary Society from 2005 until 2010. He also holds several United States patents, including one for ballet pointe shoes.
