As many of us know Thorium was brought to the United States as a promising alternative source of energy, for it has been said that 1-5 grams of Thorium would be able to power a common house hold for years, but why aren't we using such a promising source of energy? Richard Nixon cut off Thorium research in 1974, and if it hadn't been so, by 2000 the US would have become energy independent.
Thorium has near to zero Carbon emission, and the even the wastes of the current nuclear reactors can be put into the Thorium to reuse as energy. This alternative source of energy can easily give energy not only to the United States, but eventually to the whole world allowing there to be a reduction of nuclear wastes and even reduce the green house emissions with one simple material, Thorium.
