Clearly there is dissent among people, and conflicting data, about the health of GMO corn and soybeans. Most of the dissent stems from a lack of long-term animal studies - where we feed GMO corn or soybeans to real animals. All studies (3 that I know of) to date have been less than 90 days, and all scientists involved with GMO foods recommend long-term (1-2 year or more) studies, including monitoring offspring.
Monsanto and other companies will not do long-term studies on their own, and even if they did nobody would believe the results. Our government must fund INDEPENDENT studies (and have the results published).
Studies should include monitoring MANY aspects of the health of the animals - weight and number of offspring, allergies, autopsies, chemical blood analysis, etc.
