Independently funded medical research for the use of stem cell's to treat and cure disease has proven itself effective in areas such as severe burn victims, cancer treatment and brain dysfunction.
There is not enough positive promotion to the public regarding this matter. The general assumption is that stem cell research somehow promotes abortion.
There are no women opting for abortion solely on the idea of donating the fetus for stem cell research. There is no difference between this and organ donation. The other little known fact is that ones own stem cells can be used to treat other areas of their body in certain circumstances.
Stem cell research does not equal abortion, and we should have federally funded research facilities.
