The people of Syria have been oppressed by Bashar al Assad for too long and need assistance to fight his regime. Over 70,000 have died fighting according to the U.N.'s latest totals. Something must be done from a humanitarian standpoint and the U.S. is in the position to do so. We as a nation ought be willing to provide military assistance to help the rebels out to highlight our position as a democracy supporting nation.
