Fundamentally modify the construct of a "corporation" so that it is not a "person" under federal law.

Created by J.A. on December 11, 2012

Since SCOTUS ruled on "Citizens United", corporations are given human rights. But fundamentally, since corporations limit liability of their owners, they lack the morality that is intrinsic to humans. This moral hazard fundamentally threatens our economy and our citizens.

There is a real threat that the US becomes a country of corporations rather than people.

We urge the Administration to take actions to limit the "rights" of corporations and increase their social responsibility. The construct of a corporation is to serve the public good through providing a product, jobs for the citizens, and SOME profit for the owners. Corporations should be taxed, held to high environmental standards, and not be allowed to skirt social responsibility by bankruptcy or by international outsourcing.
