Funding for the Arts in School

This petition is important because so much of our focus is on math and science in our schools, that the arts get lost in the mix. Art is one of the most essential aspects of life, and is particularly essential for teenagers. Consider that arts are a chance for kids to express themselves; it will allow them to be themselves, gain self-esteem, and feed a creative fire. But since there's been this unfortunate decline in arts funding in schools, many kids are missing out on wonderful creative opportunities.
Also take into account, that for most arts there is no AP. There's art history, music theory, and drawing. But no theatrical arts AP class, no dance AP class, no instrumental performance art AP class, no creative writing AP class.
That's why I ask art be funded more in our schools.
