Special needs children who attend public schools are not getting the kind of attention and special education that they should in order for them to excel and learn. Schools specifically for special education children are very expensive and the majority of families cannot afford to send their children to those kinds of schools. Our public schools are failing special needs children due to the lack of specialized programs and lack of trained teachers who know how to work with these children. If public schools were provided with more funding to train more teachers on how to work with special needs students and expand special education programs in their school, we could help so many students reach their potential and fulfill our duties as educators.
