Funds to hire Veterans at Community College Resource Centers: Staff who encourage academic success of GI Bill Awardees.

Created by M.M. on October 20, 2011

Federal Funding for Veterans' Resource Centers (VRC) to staff coordinator positions, at Community Colleges, that will provide guidance and assistance to current and incoming students using their GI Bill Educational Benefits.

The VRCs would create an atmosphere of understanding to student veterans and "their/our" language, issues, concerns, and additional requirements necessary to accomplish their/our academic goals. The center and its paid veteran personnel are put in place to encourage and NOT DISCOURAGE applicants/students in completing additional requirements necessary to use their GI Bill Benefits.

Veteran Personnel will assist in the transition process from military to civilian life and serve as college and community resource officers.
