Consider that as the problem of gun violence in schools has gotten worse and congress continues to implore the same tactics, and is getting only the same results, congress should admit their plan does not work because criminal don’t care about the law. The law only applies to law abiding citizens and criminals will never be law abiding citizens.
So how will changing laws that apply to law abiding citizens’ cause criminals to obey the law?
Sponsor a bill that requires all gun owners be licensed to carry and to be obliged to serve in a community militia that supports law enforcement, and to carry a handgun at all times to protect the innocent. This requirement would also have training requirements initially and every three years going forward, along with backing of the US government.
