Further regulate or stop hydraulic fracturing until contamination can be prevented or cleaned up

Created by R.R. on May 22, 2012

Hydraulic fracturing pushes chemicals suspended in water into shale to break up and dislodge natural gases. We cannot possibly know where there are fractures in the shale and therefore cannot completely contain the chemicals pumped into the ground (ask any hydrologist that doesn't work for the gas companies)
Nobody wants to pay higher energy prices, but the cost of cleaning the pollution will far exceed the benefits of the energy produced.
I believe, like companies that drill for oil, unless you can clean up the spill (spills will happen, refer to "Murphy's Law" - What can go wrong will go wrong) you should not be allowed to extract the resource.

We need clean air, water, and soil to survive.
