Gain congressional approval before taking any military action against Syria.

Created by T.S. on August 29, 2013

The American people deserve to have their voices heard through their representatives in Congress. The President has a constitutional obligation to gain congressional approval for any foreign military strike.

The President should use his authority to call Congress back from recess to hold a special session to debate the merits and pitfalls of taking military action in Syria.

Syria does not pose an imminent threat to the United States or its allies. The American people deserve to be consulted and this issue debated before our country engages in another costly and potentially uncontrollable military conflict.
