Gear high school classes more toward what each student wants to do with his or her life by allowing more class choices

Created by G.O. on January 06, 2014

Most students by sophomore year of highschool know what he or she wants to do with their life, whether it be a math and science career or something more abstract. In today's school system, a student is not motivated to do well in classes they don't see nessacesary, for instance, why should a student who wants to pursue a life in law or something along those lines be forced to take a chemistry class? Why do students learn more about theroms and the Great Wall of china as opposed to learning how to take out loans and about taxes, real world things students are missing out on in addition to not being able to take classes that will help them succeed in the life they want. Our students aren't motivated to do well in classes they know they don't need, so why not use their time more wisely?
