Gender Neutral Bathrooms in Public Schools

Created by D.M. on September 19, 2016

In most school systems in the United States, bathrooms come in two categories: Male or Female. Having gender neutral bathrooms in public schools would benefit transgender, nonbinary, genderqueer, agender, and many other individuals who feel uncomfortable using gendered bathrooms. It would provide an alternative solution to alleviate dysphoria in genderqueer students and be a resource for transgender students who may not be public about their gender identity. Overall, having these gender neutral bathrooms would be much less exclusionary to trans* students in public schools.
