George Takei over the last ten years has become a cultural force for change in the United States. Building upon a strong base of fans, he built an internet following to rival the biggest websites and companies. Using this following, Mr. Takei (or Uncle George to many of his followers), has championed LGBTQ rights, Asian-American rights, African-American rights, really, just human rights. He has spoken out against hate speech, has tried to reach out to bring people together, started foundations and action groups to rally support for gun reform, LGBTQ rights, marriage equality, the enviornment and to fight wrongs were ever he seems them. Mr. Takei is a survivor of the Japanese Internment camps, racism, and sexism. He is a hero deserves to be recognized for his vast impact on American life.
