Amik Hekmati is a U.S. marine that went to Iran and got captured while visiting as a civilian and was sentenced to death. He is being held in inhumane conditions, conditions that violate the Geneva Convention of Human Rights, and is being tortured physically and mentally. He has had no contact with his family.
