Urban sprawl in the regions immediate around the vicinity of Greater Los Angeles has effectively eliminated the native chaparral vegetation, and is violating the Endangered Species Act, as we are in effect eating away the habitat of the mountain lions, the American Black Bear, and the iconic California Condor. Also, the uncontrolled expansion of housing developments pushing further into the hills and mountains are inviting disasters to happen, as what happened during the Sand fire this July of 2016. Let Congress hear the voice of the people, this time on the conservation of what remains of the once pristine ecosystem that existed in California before development came and took it all.
