Get Congress to repeal the 17th Amendment

Created by J.W. on April 16, 2014

The Founding Fathers made the election of the Senate by the State Legislatures. When the 17th Amendment was ratified it made elections of the Senate by the people at large. Ever since, the Senate has just been a glorified House and not accountable to their States. The Senate now just does as it pleases without consequence. Also, the States have no say in what happens in Congress which was the whole point of the States electing the Senators. If the 17th Amendment is repealed, we would have a much better functioning federal government and get us back to Federalism like the Framers intended.
