Temporary assistance to the unsuccessful is not enough. Slavery is wrong and therefore any work requirement to receive welfare is wrong. Welfare should be high enough to not be poor. If welfare were high enough to pay income taxes, that would help finance welfare. However, the government should coin money for its spending rather than taxing. Welfare should help people get and keep their homes and cars, etc., so there should be no asset limit to qualify for welfare. Needing to sell things to get an income is unsafe and not worth being patriotic about.
