Get the lead out

Created by G.O. on January 26, 2016

The problems in Flint Michigan, though very serious, highlight the larger problem of lead exposure in the US. There are still counties in the US where half the children tested have high levels of lead in their blood. Some of this was highlighted in a recent article on the Vox website: http://www.vox.com/2016/1/21/10811004/lead-poisoning-cities-us

An infrastructure bank account for supplying grants and low cost loans is needed to finally clean up the lead in the US--be it in soil, paint, schools, houses, brown fields, along railroads and highways, apartment buildings, water, etc. EPA and CDC need to coordinate with state environmental and public health officials to help find problem areas and fix them.
