Hong Kong is a gateway between the Easter world and the Western world. If the Chinese gov't were to absorb Hong Kong some of the freedoms the Hong Kongese hold dear would be abolished. Socialism would destroy Hong Kong. We must have a position in these protests.
It's not right that Hong Kong gets a pre-determined set of political leaders assigned by the Chinese government. They should be able to choose for themselves.
We are Americans, we help others, we fight for freedom. Democracy is freedom and democracy is want the people of Hong Kong want.
America fights for the world's freedom.
