We are a country of citizens with multiple religions and levels of religious conviction. Our founding fathers worked hard to keep religion out of our government because they understood that, in reality, each and every one of us has our own religious perspective and the only way to respect every person’s individual rights is to keep religion out of our institutions. The military is one of those institutions.
Recent history has found members of the military command structure at all levels proselytizing for an “evangelical Christian” religious perspective and pressuring and discriminating against members of our military who have other perspectives and beliefs.
This is unconstitutional, and unacceptable.
