We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Get rid of the electoral college

Created by M.K. on November 10, 2016

In the early United States, the electoral college was created because ordinary Americans did not necessarily have access to sufficient information to choose the president directly or intelligently. This system is still in place today, but should not be. The electoral college and the fact that the "winner takes all" in terms of electoral votes, makes the American people feel as if their vote does not count. Every vote should count and should go towards electing the president, not the electors. On top of that, a vote in a typically red or typically blue state should be just as important as a vote in a swing state. The electoral college is an outdated system that truly limits democracy.
