The Electoral College was an important process for when the United States first got founded. It ensured that the uneducated farmers didn't elect someone that would just hurt themselves. Today the average American is educated and know what policies would benefit them and what person could live up to those policies and get them done, But with the electoral college your vote potentially doesn't matter. If your district votes democrat for the presidential election, your representative could vote republican instead and essentially make your vote worth nothing. As long as the Electoral College is in place your vote is more of a suggestion, thus it doesn't matter. With the electoral college in place this isn't a democracy, its a republic. Please give us our basic civil right to vote back.
