The electoral college is a system which has existed almost since the beginning of the republic but over time it has become largely ceremonial. Most states award their alloted votes based on the winning majority in their state leaving the minority vote in those states feeling as if they don't have a voice. While for the most part the electoral college has coincided with the popular votes as the Gore vs Bush election and now the Hillary vs Trump election has shown us this isn't always the case and results in a decision that goes against the WILL OF THE PEOPLE. Both parties have in the past expressed their discontent and its time to fix this issue and add an amendment to change the system so that the popular vote no matter by what percent is the person chosen as our president.
