The electoral college is not democratic in nature and should be removed immediately. The electoral college discourages millions of voters from voting for the candidate they support. This results in millions of voters not voting at all because they know their state is either blue or red, in essence, making them feel like their vote does not count. Removing the electoral college from the presidential election process would also free our country from the current two party system. If the election is determined by popular vote as any democratic process should be, then every vote would count. I think we can all agree that this is the way it should be.
So what's the hold up? We need to call on congress to legislate and abolish the electoral congress.
