The Electoral College is an antiquated institution that existed in a time when communication between long distances required time intensive labor; a condition which no longer exists. The presidential elections should be decided by popular vote. Many times voters are apathetic and choose not to vote because they believe their vote does not count in a state that is solidly of the opposite party in which they vote. Abolish the Electoral College and let popular vote determine the outcome of future elections.
