The founding fathers established the Electoral College in the Constitution as a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens
today anyone can vote easily, the electoral college system is archaic and is no longer needed in today's world of instant communication.
the voting process should be for who THE PEOPLE want in office- not for which person has raked in the most contributions for their respective party.
