We need to get rid of free money being handed out by taxpayers via Earned Income Credit. There is no reason those of us who pay taxes have to buy people big screen TV's or vacations when the rest of us cannot afford that stuff. I pay into taxes and watch big screen TV's being rolled out of Walmart every year at tax time. This is neither right or fair. I don't care if they don't have to pay in, but they sure as heck shouldn't be getting a free $3000 check either.
I propose that we can keep the EIC tax credit, as long as it is not refunding people money that they never paid in. I have no problem with people below a certain poverty level having a much less burden of taxes. However, those of us paying taxes do have a real problem with giving them our money for free.
